The marina in a perfect place to find your next adventure but it’s so much more than just a dock to board a boat. Take a walk through Ceasar Chavez park. It’s the perfect place to explore, fly a kite, or have a picnic. Take an hour or two and hike the Cesar Chavez Park Trail. It’s a 1.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail that offers offers a number of activity options and scenic views. The trail is good for all skill levels and you can even bring your dog. There are many restaurants at the marina and close by and many hotels to help you enjoy your stay. You can come to Berkeley and fish for the day or stay the week. Make it a family vacation. The marina is beautiful no matter what season you visit.

Things to do with the kids.

We recommend Berkeley, CA for your next family vacation. There are many things you can do right at the marina and if you venture away a few miles and there is even more. 

Besides the many tours and trips we offer there is a large park right on the Marina, we mentioned above. Here you can bike, hike, or just fly a kite. There is also a wonderful Adventure Playground where the kids can pretend to be pirates and play in forts and on boats built just for them.

After you have spent hours watching the kids enjoying zip lining and maybe a nap, head over to Bay Area Children’s Theater and enjoy a kid friendly show.   

If you have kids from 0-5, a great place to visit is the Habitot Children’s Museum.  The museum offers hands-on theme exhibits and costumes; the kids will love using their imaginations. Make sure to add the full-inclusion, multi-sensory activity center, Kids Gym Berkeley into your visit as well.  

You can even walk the Berkeley Hills and Climb thesecret staircases”.  The secret paths and stairs of Berkeley are perfect for wandering by foot and letting your four-year-old count steps at the top of her lungs.

Places to eat in Berkeley, CA 

There are a lot of places to eat not only on the marina but in town as well. Tripadvisor ranks the top 10. Click HERE to see the list. 

 Right at the edge of the marina, you can dine at Skates on the Bay. Make your reservations in advance though. They are known for their delicious seafood and are packed every night. The only thing better than the food are the amazing views.  

Located in the Doubletree Hotel is The Bay Grille & Lounge. It has a gluten free pizza that’s to die for. Step off the boat after a long day in the sun and step inside for great food. 

If you’re looking for a lunch to bring on the boat stop by Seabreeze Market and grab a Po’Boy sandwich or the fried fresh fish. They describe themselves as as a Seafood-centric deli dishing up po‘ boys, chowder & fried fish in compact digs with a modest patio. It’s a great place to stop by anytime they are open. There are over 20 places to dine from restaurants to fast food, all within 5 miles of the marina.

For the coffee connoisseur, we also have many coffee shops close by so you’ll have plenty of time to grab some and bring it on-board for a morning departure.
